It’s no secret that my favorite color is yellow, so, yes, I’m particularly fond of this mug, but it’s not just because it’s yellow. I always try to cede some “control” in my process to allow for the kiln and glazes to spontaneously create something that is far beyond what I could consciously contrive. I am always excited to unload a kiln and discover a true delight like this mug: the texture, the speckling and the way the glaze emphasizes the lithe limbs. It’s an energy boost carrying energy from my studio to its forever home. This yellow fellow buzzes with excitement.
