As a ceramic artist, Troy Bungart believes handmade brushes allow for creative exploration and add depth to one’s finished work regardless of media. They are, quite simply, a way to make your own unique mark with your work.

Students in this workshop will learn how to make brushes as Troy does. From material selections to finishing your first brush, participants in this class will learn how to make gestural and mop head brushes for their own artistic purposes.

In addition, Troy will answer questions and cover aesthetic and functional considerations as well as common pitfalls that make the difference between a rough tool and a finely crafted inspiration for your work.
