The fish scale pattern that I impressed into the cup while it was still soft gives it an inviting texture that is fun to the touch and is a joy to contemplate while sipping something special. When you want to slow down and the whiskey is sipping good then you need a whiskey sipper that just hold enough to enjoy now. If you need more pour yourself some more later, but there's now rush, your not going anywhere and neither is the bottle. Take your time and enjoy a sip.
How It Was Made:
This sipper was made by me in my studio on the potters wheel. Then it was fired in a wood kiln at Touchstone Center for Craft in PA. After the firing the kiln must cool for about a week before I can start taking the pieces out of the kiln. Once out of the kiln then the pots must be cleaned up and any sharp edges ground down. A labour of love and character.
