I have created this handsome new brush to add to my tool collection. This brush is made of black tampico, a vegetable fiber collected from agave and yucca leaves. The stiff, broomlike bristles are perfect for sweeping through thick slip to leave texture and design on pots and platters.
6-1/2" long, 3/4" thick, Product orders on this item are filled from inventory. The one you get will be very similar but not identical to the cord-wrapped brush shown in the photo. Marks made by the brush with the bamboo handle are indicative of marks made with the cord wrapped brushes.
I start with an idea for a beautiful brush and work out the details to bring it to life.
I'm a brush maker, tool maker and potter. Deep in my potter's soul I love combining beauty with function. When it comes to pottery tools I end up wanting something other than what I can get from the catalogs, so I make my own. I am happy to share my love of handmade brushes with you.
